From the Vine is the story of downtrodden CEO, Mark (Emmy-award winner Joe Pantoliano), who, experiencing a crisis of conscience, travels back to his Italian homeland to re-calibrate his moral compass. He discovers new life and friendships when he decides to revive his Nonno’s old vineyard and brings his wife, 20-something daughter, and the citizens of Acerenza along for the ride.

Former Orangeville resident, director Sean Cisterna offers a film that is full of magic realism and Italian neorealism (including an homage to the opening scene to Fellini’s 8½) which is ultimately about finding your roots in your family when you’re at the bottom of the barrel. Prepare to be transported to the stunning southern Italian countryside and soak up a story full of humour, love and wine.
